10 days to go.....now on countdown
Feeling a lot calmer now that my itinerary is sorted and I know where, when and how I am getting to places. Bangkok declaring a 'national state of emergency' last week did not help the heartbeat rate and it was a relief when it blew over quickly. On one hand I appear to have everything under control and on the other there is huge potential for it all to go belly up in a spectacular fashion. Getting my visa through for China is proving a bit of a bear and turning me into the same animal with a sore head but, remaining positive, Plan B is to drive down to the Chinese visa office in London at last minute... if I have to! The next big challenge is.....packing my bags. Kate in Kuala Lumpur has let me know that she has secured a ticket to the local rugby club dinner dance (they appear to be living in colonial style) and could I bring a LBD (means Little Black Dress for all the men reading this) and a pair of strappy sandals with me. When my clothes run by themselves to her washing machine in a desperate attempt to get clean after 3 weeks travelling through Cambodia and Vietnam, I'm sure she'll forgive me for having to go shopping for said LBD when I arrive in KL!

What ho? Rugger in KL...30-35 degC 100% humidity - sounds as fun as the communal bath with some big, battered hairies!!! Just watch if they invite you to do 'The Boat Race' PocketGem....there's 'A Porter' who is the star at that one, as LJB has told me!

Hi Audra, I am continually gobsmacked by your energy and commitment..your reporting is prolific and really excellent...I have been to some of your escapades with you..so well done!!
ReplyDeleteXian, the Terracotta Army, bungee jumpin', Hong Kong...the miserably Fuji! Three Gorges (Wow). Shanghai towering modern city in upheaval and development; the art and vibrant colours, scorpions, sweet dough balls, crispy roast duck, and star fish, etc ..brilliant and wonderful essence of your great trip.
So much to see, and talk and write about, and loads off people who have in passing shared. WONDERFUL!! Kindest regards, Denis XX
